About Dave
A comic as well as an actor/writer/rapper, Dave Saitzyk’s style is truly unique and all his own thanks in large part to his mastery of impressions and uncompromising fun on stage. Blending funny in the traditional anecdotal way with a seamless farcical nature that seeks for nothing more than to suspend reality and take an audience away from the life they know, he paints a landscape of the absurd.
Dave, who is a classically trained Shakespearean actor has appeared on stage as Malvolio in Twelfth Night, Iago in Othello, Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Hecate in MacBeth. A veteran of over 20 years of stage, film and television, he’s appeared on Law & Order, the Sopranos, Smash and many independent films as well. Dave began a rap career at 21 that blossomed in 2005 on NYC’s underground hip hop scene when as rapper Arythmia, he formed the rap duo Double Wide alongside NY rapper Revolution before going on to personally compete and finish as a finalist in EOW MC Challenges and perform on shows with the likes of Immortal Technique, Darryl McDaniels of Run DMC, Homeboy Sandman and many others.
Impressions and voices have always been things that came organically to Dave, from a very young age he began to receive that bolt of lightening where an impressionist suddenly realizes “Hey I can do that voice” and with very little effort. Finally after years of flirting with the idea of approaching a comedy mic, he did in 2011 and has never looked back. He has played major venues including Comix at Foxwoods, the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank NJ, New York City clubs such as Gotham Comedy Club, Stand Up NY, New York Comedy Club and Broadway Comedy Club, Levity Live in West Nyack NY and countless other venues and private shows.
A New Jersey native, Dave brings many strengths to bare in his incomparable style which have helped him to become a winner in Jester’s Comedy Club Competitions, as well as a finalist in 101.5 WPDH’s Search for The Funniest Person in The Hudson Valley.
